It’s all about Doctor Who today, naturally, as we eagerly await the second Tennant special that leads up to the two-part festive end-of-doctor-ten story. I can’t wait.
While the time drags on, though, I discovered (via The Doctor Who blog) that some of the classic episodes are available to watch for free on YouTube. Full episodes provided by BBC Worldwide.
There are also other series on there, such as Dead Ringers, which has full episodes, and many nature programmes and others that only have clips as well.
I have been thinking about watching some of the earlier episodes of Doctor Who, to try and brush up on some of the history behind the series. A lot of the episodes are available on iTunes, but now I have another option. TV on YouTube definitely works for me, what do you think?

I think it’s a great idea, as long as the quality is ok. I haven’t looked at the Dr Who ones you’ve linked to, but the BBC do have a lot of old Strictly clips on their YouTube channel, and whilst these are better than most of the uploaded ones, they are still really only fit to watch in a small window.
I’d like to see others follow the BBC, but I’d also like to see the option for higher quality versions on YouTube, so I can watch via the PS3 on TV – it works great with iPlayer, and it’s much more relaxing than watching on the laptop screen, for me.

That’s a very good point. I read somewhere else recently, that YouTube are starting to implement HD video and provide bigger screen space, etc, so as long as it all starts to come together, it should be very good!
