What is this place?
This is my blog, a space for me to talk about what interests me. So far it has covered topics as diverse as indoor gardening, Google Android apps, what the BBC are up to with Eastenders, and why I can’t get to grips with my Mac. Who knows what I’ll write about next?
I used to keep a diary, filling up two-page-per-view books for many years. As soon as I heard about blogging, that was my preferred method of chronicalling my life. I write about what I do and what I like, and if you do or like the same things, then that is brilliant. You can be my new best friend.
Variety is the spice of life, and that’s why I blog all things geek, TV, media plus more than a handful of life snippets. I sometimes take pictures, and even come up with the odd video or two. It’s all about the journey and this is mine.
And who are you?
Well I’ve told you my name already, perhaps you want to know a little bit more about me. That is the name of the page, I suppose. I’m a twenty-something female living in the UK, working with numbers to support my main hobbies: blogging and podcasting.
Perhaps you’ve heard of Sidepodcast? If not, I highly recommend it. It’s an F1 site primarily, where we produce articles, podcasts and videos, but the community is so much more than cars. We talk about pandas quite frequently (although that might just be them humouring me).
You can find me on Librivox, I have a stalker site about a racing driver, I used to blog specifically about the BBC, and I was also an editor over on BellaOnline.com.
So, in summary, I write a lot and I talk a lot. That’s pretty much all you need to know. As an added bonus, here are ten things you don’t need to know about me:
- I iron left-handed even though I am right handed.
- I don’t like peanut butter.
- I once submitted a TV script to the BBC. They didn’t like it.
- My favourite film is Back to the Future. I could watch all three films all day long.
- I have really bad, but eclectic, taste in music. One day it could be S Club 7, the next it might be Linkin Park.
- I hate buying shoes.
- I like to cook, although I am not particularly good at it.
- I hoard magazines, even though there are few I like. This hasn’t been true for a long time. Here’s a replacement: I only ever walked out of one class at school, and I ended up walking right back in again.
- I have too many ideas and not enough time.
- I have driven a tractor. Briefly. Almost into a hedge.
